THE UN GUY
Unfaithful, unethical...
Great at lacking morals...
Believes he can have any woman he sets his very wandering eyes upon...
Unwonderful, unkind...
Really enjoys playing with your mind...
He thinks he's the king of broken hearts...
He's just an un guy...
He thinks he's the only one of his kind...
Guys like that could learn a lot at Dog Obedience School...
Where the uneducated can become educated...
A great way to stop the spread...
HIV isn't wanted by me...
You're either un or you're a great guy...

I gotta admit, I'm an "Un guy" myself, sparrowsong.
Never been to Dog Obedience School however.
My family says I'm a modern-day Dorian Gray.
I was faithful to my wife for 22 years and never so much thought of having an affair.
Guess where it got me?
She left once I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure claiming that she'd just watched her mother die of pancreatic cancer and she couldn't bear to watch me die too.
Yeah...right.
Had nothing to do with the 33 year-old man she's living with now, I'm sure.
I had many opportunities myself. But I'm stupid and believe that marriage vows are sacred.
Not any more.
Now I use up every woman I can get my grubby hands on and tell hem so as I'm doing it.
Most of them could care less, surprisingly enough.
Go figure...

Somethings just doesn't make sense...
I understand it can go both ways...
I have seen what AIDS can do...
Some diseases you can get without it getting that far...
I know a lot of people who behave that way and it helps me to know that you almost have to look at people and think it's possible...
I have seen how some diseases effect people in their old age that they have spread and carried for years...
Not a pleasant sight and not a pleasant death...

I'm very careful and selective.
I also ALWAYS use protection.
There are things besides AIDS out there these days that will cause you to die a slow and painful death as well.
Hepatitis C.
Herpes is rampant today.
Black Syphilis is on the rise.
If you're gonna play in the rain, you'd best wear a raincoat.

It's a source of protection yes...
But, what is it 100% safe and guaranteed?
There's so many diseases out there but, I chose one that I have seen it's effect from beginning to end...
There's things you can get just by sharing a glass...
There's people who's choices are limited...
I haven't checked the statistics of the amount of people who are infected with something than those who aren't...
There are towns that are greatly infected by hepatitis and such...
Some has been brought in from other countries...
We all have a choice...

Yes, you're right.
No protection is 100% guaranteed.
If you're afraid of contracting AIDS, the best practice is abstinence.
However, I enjoy sex far too much to even consider that possibility.
After all, we only live once.
Might as well enjoy it while we still can.

Adorable grandmothers in their nineties as well as some fellow poets I hang out with who belong to a poetry SLAM group I'm involved with who go to the University of Cincinnati.

This is really someome to beware of. A walking virus with the attitide of a circus. Jerks like that bring more harm than wat tney think. Awesome piece but a lesson to men and kids rhat think been the un guy is cool. Bevauae ia not.. Natural brake ups is mot tje same to someone that dint care bour you to biggin with.. Just to let you know I'm a She...

I have heard of devastating things that people have done...
Someone write on a mirror before the person woke up and write you now have AIDS...
It was a one night stand...
Another one was of young woman who met a young guy overseas and before he said Goodbye to her at the airport he gave her a wrapped gift and told her not to open it before she got on the plane...
She did what he asked...
She opened the box and it was a tiny coffin with a note inside and it read...
Welcome to my world you have AIDS...
After she got home she killed herself...
Certain attitudes turn me completely off...
That's how I can respect them a little...
Their honesty isn't a lie...
But, easy to give-a-away and walk away...

I suppose I could have said un people...
But, women are more emotional and seek different things than guys do...
Old fashioned today is the modern Amish way...
I live in Amish country...
They still live by the ways of old...
Horse and buggies and they travel by train...
There's a slight difference between the Amish and the Mennonites...
They are very strict and proper in their beliefs...
The Bible teaches and it's up to us to learn...
