THE UNKNOWN FLUTE PLAYER

An unknown stranger was playing the flute
Put a smile to me on my daily commute
Packed bodies enjoyed this free show
Who she was nobody on the tube did know

Tuesday morning the flutist here once more
A different audience that's for sure
The tube still packed like a tin of sardines
From old age pensioners to wisely teens

Wednesday came and Wednesday went
The music of the flute player heaven sent
This time the tube clapped and cheered
Making her feel uncomfortable and weird

Thursday arrived but alas this flutist did not
It was in the papers today she'd been shot
They didn't know who she was such a shame
The unknown flute player without even a name
