The Vicissitudes
Through the vicissitudes of a life rife with lonely wanting
My path lit from a spiritual place with apparitions haunting
Driven to learn power lurking in holy edifices and ancient places
I traveled the world with randomness, that taught me social graces
But throughout the vicissitudes, somehow I lost my own opinion
It took an act of God to slow me, afford me personal dominion
Over choices and decisions concerning who I love and what I do
Today I find myself thanking God, for helping my dreams come true
For finally I have found deep within myself, spiritual understanding
That is to say, my conversations with God no longer require planning
Somehow, through all the alternation, I've found true love of God
Not the God in history books or sermons
Bu the light you see in everything and everyone
The God in street urchins and butterflies
The God in love of life
The God in a thieving child
The God in the energy
That created everything
And the God that no longer requires
A plan
To speak with him
Any time at all,
Regardless,
Of the vicissitudes...

This is quite the poetic testimony, Tony!
It is brilliantly composed with an almost imperceptible, subtle rhyming.
God is so very many different things to a diverse group of people. He is our Father, our keeper and our beacon of light in the deepest darkness.

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,
For many years I was lost at sea
But then God came and rescued me
"One Act" was all that I would need
To have Him plant His loving seed

Today I see Him everywhere
In light and sound and stars out there
I speak with Him spontaneously
