The Weaving Mind
As my detailed life ebbs and slips away,
My mind takes sample pieces of things; to play.
It uses distressful thoughts of distant past,
Some of my medications; that never last.
Then it creates lucid everlasting dreams,
They bleed over to waking life; it seems.
Now hard to separate what used to be!
And return to a slowing part of reality.
Whole new world created in my weaving mind,
Hoping someone on the outside treats me kind!
Still living in this strange world; upon the edge,
Hoping you'll take my hand and lead me from the ledge!
Still existing in a fantasy of thought and tale,
Counting days before I step beyond the veil.

me thinks I dwell in a lucid dream with your gracious compliment my wonderful friend! thank you.
wonderful poem
thank you for your support Greg!
Reads like a beautiful daydream Jim. A truly moving read. I felt a sense of vulnerability within it also. The need to lean on another, have faith they will hold your hand, whilst you lose yourself to lucid dreaming. Almost like something someone with dementia would experience? A truly wonderful and clever write x

Hj, thank you so much for going back and reading and supporting so many of my writes!
A lucid waking dream feel to it Jim and magnificently so, felt a tad of Alice in Wonderland down the rabbit- hole quality woven in for good measure.
Ethereal and other worldly also call out but the message of hope and a resilient guiding friendship and one of care, never is, like the soul truly lost.
Thanks for sharing Jim , poetry kudos to you sir and remain enriched.
thank you Shaun for reading and your great comments!
