THE WEDDING CAKE

When I saw the news I thought it was a mistake
Fifty thousand pounds for a wedding cake
People are starving all around the world today
A cake for that amount of money is too much I say

When the cake was cut and the guests took a slice
I wonder if they thought of the food crisis which is not nice
The money spent just to feed a rich man's tummy
Could easily have been spent on Senegalese mummy

The money spent on a cake just will not do
That's just my opinion and point of view

This is guaranteed to get my gander up !! I become incensed when I hear stuff like this when there is so much hunger in the world..I help out at a Food bank and just seeing how some people have to struggle when others are so thoughtlessly extravagant just breaks my heart- a brilliant write Kieran!

Is it wrong to say that I want to blow it up, the cake that is, or maybe sit the queen down and make her eat it all like the scene in matilda when miss truncable makes Bruce eat the chocolate cake, it would be pretty funny but the queen would probably die of diabetes.

I don't think the guests who attended the Royal wedding gave one smidgeon of thought to the millions of people wallowing in poverty and starving across the globe.
Not so much as the twitching of an eye.
Know what I'd like to see happen at such events?
I would love to see a multitude of Ethiopian, North Korean, and Chinese kids fitted with parachutes then dropped smack dab in the middle of the festivities.
What are the Queen's Royal Guard gonna do, rough up emaciated children on the telly, in front of millions of viewers?
I think not!
Perhaps they would have enjoyed a slice of cake costing in excess of £50,000.
In fact, I'd almost bet my life on it.
