Poem -

the weight of day

his heart can't take the weight of
day
he longs to give it all away

to lie in peace, alone, like this
he dreams of home, eternal bliss
the doctors here are very kind
but he can't tell them of his mind
of how he fails to live alive
he's weak he thinks, he fails to
thrive
and shame stands always at the
door
goading him, get up, do more
but minds are funny things he knows
he suffers his but does not show
the doctors here are very kind
but he can't tell them of his mind
he longs to lie alone like this
he dreams of death and peace
and bliss
