THE WINDOW

THE WINDOW

From a window
the world gets a different geometry:
the sky is blue; the water coloured by
the bright shadow of the blazing city;
curtains unveil a great purity.

From a window
lush green and bubbling water-pristine,
frogs wheezing in the paddies,
soft rustling of the breeze in the flowering fields,
darkness overshadowed, glories illumine.

From a window
is a glorious and paramount place:
a bustling metropolis;
skyscrapers punctured the sunny sky
relegated to the anonymity with shame,
the blood, sweat and tears of universal race.

From a window
people live separately as Dives and Lazarus;
behind the same wall  and gates,
catapulting abundance, greed and happiness,
mushrooming numbers of shanty-towns,
shocking eyesore, dangerous and verminous.

From a window
are two different phantoms:
the wickedness of the tyrant
grappling with the glory of the master;
sea of corpse reigned, stench of humans hover above
washed away by the falling rain;
shed no tears, Alas! they did not die in vain.

But when the Holy spirit looks forth
through the window of grace
the rewards will be different.

Hey LEAH!!... this is a VERY engrossing read......I had to read it twice...... all the different, dark, perspectives from "The Window "......so creatively painted with images of positive points of beauty being overrun with negative images man-made....... clever stuff...... and then topped off with the final stanza...... where God enters to clean up the view from "The Window".......ALL STARS!!....... well done girlfriend!!.......LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ?✳✴☀♥

Hi Tony,  you analysed it well ## windows give the wrong shape to everything## They also signify intellectual things #

Stunning write. The descriptive quality of this tied in with the powerful messages makes for a highly charged deeply meaningful piece. You produce poetry using all the experiences of life and all knowledge acquired creating a truly worthwhile read !
What a well- written well- intentioned piece, once again outlining your qualities as a poet.
Keep up the great work !

My Dear Leah,

This beautiful poem, has inspired me to write one of my own, dealing with some very famous "Windows".  It is called "Look For My Angels", and I have just posted it.  Thank you for your powerful inspiration.

My Dear Leah,

No, you are not alone.  There have been times off and on when things have been going awry on the site.  It looks like they have made some changes in the format.  Hope things are better now.

Hugs, Peace and Love,
