Poem -

~ THE WONDERMENT ~

~ THE WONDERMENT ~

In the house amid the trees
There comes a great lament
A wraith goes by, to where, no one knows
The moment has come and gone
Death has knocked
And a child is left, fatherless
So the mother takes her by the hand
And slowly walks her
Into the Wonderment...

A single star up in the sky
Seems to speak to her
She is not familiar with the Wonderment
But she feels
With great compassion
The looming loss of her father
And then
The Wonderment comes to her...

It urges her to wear her 'mourning' dress
She walks along a forsaken trail
And finds that she is lost
When suddenly she sees the light, this Wonderment
It is surely what we All think we can be
The tree, the we, the angelic choir
The God, the You, the me, the voices rising
So, in her 'mourning' dress
She genuflects into the light
And from her knees
She begins to sing a song of divinity...

For her, the time has come
And all the other girls in the choir
Kneel down to sing along
For they too have found their way home
And without them even knowing
How or why,
They know that they have touched,
They have traveled,
The Wonderment...

Tony I love how you brought to the attention that we are all one we as a whole are the wonderment .. the story is beautiful in its metaphorical message That no matter how bad things are it’s only perception .. it’s all in how you look at it “ everything happens for a raisen” lol
awesome job

Hey T.....I like how you subtly thread the spiritual mystery and wonderment of death despite the sad loss....the feeling that there is more despite how things appear...It is felt when looking up at the sky, and seeking to find hope at such a sad time....Beautiful rewrite.   My love and hugs, xo ;)  C
