The World Is So Afraid Of Love

The World Is So Afraid Of Love

Moments gather in the clouds
In the corners of my eyes
In my hair, dripping with the rain of
Memories
Bittersweet, soft reminiscences
You held my heart like a jewel
Tender enough to
Read my lips when we kissed
Touch my skin with psychic fingers
And say l love you...
The world is so afraid of love

Unspoken words gather in my chest
In vestibules and wintry attics
The sentimental ghost of happiness
Evaporates
Bittersweet, these recollections
Of when I was not invisible
Your dark Moon eyes
Heard the voice inside my smile
Read what lay beneath my poetry
And reached for me...
Now the garden dies without us

And through the broken window
There you are, where it’s easier
No need to try
But far, far away from happiness
Is it worth it
For this illusion of safety?

The world is so afraid of love
