The wriggly worm 🪱

The wriggly worm 🪱

I watched him slither, I saw him squirm..that boneless, bulbous wriggly worm

He peeped his eyeless head from out of the earth..squiggling silently with all his worth

Then he lay flat on the grassy ground and I wondered could he hear a sound ?

An earth worm always baffles me, living life so clandestinely

Hidden deep down in total darkness betwixt a soiliness of sheer starkness

Just one of our Dame Mother’s crawling creatures, her clever contribution for reproductive features

Well this long, lean twisty tubey worm was creepy crawling along my garden path

And as I watched with fascination, a red breasted Robin was bobbing in and out of my bird bath

Alas this little soft, squishy animal died in glory, when that feathered friend gobbled him up to end my short story...
