Poem -

There is a River in this Forest

Styrofoam trees and sandpaper skies.
Rainclouds in disguise
Hide behind the lies
That you weave into flowers.
Roots on your tongue
Growing through your bones.
Orchids spread from your head, fingers and toes.

All that you say
From such a pretty face.
All that you touch
With beauty and grace.
Every step turns the world
Into such a heavenly place.

What an elaborate plan you have, sir.
Please, allow me to infer.
Once those petals fall from your hair,
Nothing will be left there.
A hollow shell
With a truth to tell
And a facade to shed.
How I wonder,
If your blood still runs red.
