Poem -

There's no such thing as Justice anymore

It was a Monday
breeze blowing
gentle and cool
quarter past 3
a journey
home from school
the thin blue line
walking tightly
side by side
searching for clues
why a young boy
has died
barely fourteen
walking all alone
they took his phone
he never made it home
came from behind
sneaking up the
side alleyway
hoods up
they stabbed him
and then they ran away
placed flowers and wishes
mark the ground
where he fell
lying there bleeding
his last breath
left his corpsed shell
8 years each
the public gave
a startled moan
they took a life
just for an iPhone
four years from now
they are free
from this strife
the dying boy
his sentence
was his life

It's just hit me how mindless crime can be.

A life for a device.

Doesn't make sense!

Great writing! x

Good job. This stood out for me:

four years from now
they are free
from this strife
the dying boy
his sentence
was his life
