they dance anyway

glib shadows wreck the jitter of a dancefloor at a disco
and no one notices. and this continues, because the dj lost his girlfriend
to a bassist, and now his shit is real, and everybody’s drunk-
because “ why not ? “.

as the lights dream 
of real people-

but dance 
anyway.
