THEY WHO SLEEP

We have silence on the 11th day
Of the 11th month of the year
To remember those that fall.
Who bravely try to protect those that suffer
The evil of each war.
Our brave men and women
Who fight with all their might
To make the world a safer place
To rid us of this plight.
There is a deepness in our pride
For all the heroes of our land.
They are always in our prayers
And we pray to the Lord
To be beside them where they stand.
The destruction of many lives
Is always caused by the few
Who choose to follow evil
Destroying the lives of me and you.
We will never submit to their tyrannical ways
They will never be the victors of their wars.
We will never give in to them!
They will never win their evil cause.
For all those brave soldiers who protect us all.

Great G, I knew you'd come back to this theme.......you nailed it.......my dad went to Nam twice and I know he'd love this.........I'm glad you gave this another shot.....it's a proud salute....thank you....tony xx
Thank you honey for reading this and taking the time to compliment it. That means a lot to me as my dad was in the army, I grew up through his time in the forces. My two brothers and two brother-in-laws were in the forces and faught in Ireland and the two gulf wars, infact my whole family were members of all three forces and we go back four generations. You must be very proud of your dad and so am I, so tell him thank you from England and I send him much love. Love G xx
Marvelous body of work, as a Soldier, this poem really moved me, it had passion and was written very well, my hat goes off to you on this one.
Thank you Stephen for your lovely words and God bless you for your bravery and thank heavens you came home safely. You boys have made this world a much safer place for all of us and we are all very proud of you. I`m sending a huge hug to you from England. Love G xx
This is such a touching tribute to our soldiers. Every line resounds with patriotism. Indeed, we remember the fallen and commend the living. What a wonderful prose-poem.
Thank you Glenn for such a lovely write up on this one, you are so kind. Love G xx
