Poem -

THIEF

I saw him
Sneaking away
Stealer of the light
Thief of the day
I chased him
I begged him
Give back the light
But he laughed
He ran faster
Away to the night
And yes
I chased him
So silly of me
For now all was blackness
No way to be free
No way to go forward
No way to go back
Alone in the darkness
Under attack
Surrounded
And hounded
And filled up
And crushed
Stamped on
And trampled
By the thief in his rush
As away he did run
With all life
And all fun
Only broken shell left
Of the thing
I'd become.
