Thief in the night

You left me silently
like a thief in the night.
You emptied the chambers
of my heart.
Stealling all my love
and all my hearts joy.
leaving only echoes
and a last goodbye.

On soft moonlit nights
I awaken anxiously  and think
I can hear you in there again.
Looking into my heart
to see you there.

 but it is only

the ghost of some
lost love
looking for a home.
