This world we’re in

 

This world,

This world,

this world we’re in,

will never be the same.

We’ve seen so much love lost,

So much suffering,

So much pain,

Please don’t say after this last year,

We’ll have to do it all over again?

I’d hate to be single,

Right now,

In this world we now find ourselves in.

Tucked away from the world,

With only their own thoughts for company.

How do they do it,

When I’ve a houseful,

And still feel like I’m losing the plot,

Seeing as everyday,

Is just the same ground hog day lot.

 The weekends I can look forward to,

As I get to see my forget me not.

Once here a week for dinner, 

Once there.

Keeping our lives in tact.

Making the most out of being in eachothers bubble,

With no other close person contact.

How long will we have to live this way?

They say we can mix more now,

Still masked up and restrictions ,

So not a step forwards but a step back?

How long is it going to take,

Do the Vaccinations even work,

Or a placebo,

A fake!

For my health, 

My kids,

Partner and my family,

I had to take.

Only to find out down the line it’s a dud,

That’ll be my luck,

My fate?

 

So I have a question...

If this virus was nature spread,

Nation to nation.

How is it that by us isolating,

It’ll all just go away, 

 with a single Vaccination?

As if it’s spread bird to bird,

Vermin to vermin,

and all the other animals carrying this killer disease. 

Surely they all need culling,

Tested even.

Otherwise what’s the point?

Give me a valid reason.

No one except our governments can do,

As they are the ones that have cause worldwide treason!

 

I can’t even walk out of my own house,

Unless masked up and protected to the bone.

Sanitizer to clean our hands everywhere.

Trying to get this virus,

To leave us all alone.

At the moment,

I don’t see us ever being safe from it,

Even if we all isolate every single day,

Within our four walled homes. 

I still don’t think we’ll be safe,

The more mutated these vicious spores do grow!

Feels like we’ll never be safe.

Now do you see why,

I Feel bad for all those,

That throughout this harsh period,

Have spend it on their own!

Well it will be if we just hand it our lifes reins.

Will we ever be able to stop it?

Or is this the start of worldwide decimation,

The year 2021 has another apocalyptic ending,

The more this illness,

Upon us rains!
