THREE DAYS IN

Here we are three days into the new decade
Once more bad news to report I'm afraid
America have killed a General from Iran
Who they claim was a brutal and terrible man

A knifeman went berserk in a Paris park
Three innocent stabbings he has left his mark
Motive at the moment remains unclear
Certainly not a good way to start the new year

Bushfires in Australia people in disarray
Forced to leave their homes and get out of the way
I think to myself there for the grace of God go I
Three days into the new decade I'm starting to sigh

Just three days and our world seems to be in utter chaos or, in some type of pain all around the world. It's a shame, there are more people on Earth than ever before, surly with that many brains and personalities, you'd think the world would be run more smoothly, or at least safe. Sometimes, I cannot watch the news, it seems just bad news trumps all.

Yet, on a positive note, we are all here at: Cosmofunnel, where the community has awakened to a new life force -- so many new authors have joined here. We will keep busy in the new year, writing reviews, reading the great poets of the past and try to keep one another sane enough to handle the Evening News. Bring a box of Kleenex, you'll need them.

Great poem again. Made me think.

Happy New Year
