Three Days In Paradise

The sprawling fields of Healdsburg

Like grids of perfectly manicured pastures

It’s the carpet that spreads across the rolling hills

The flawless symmetrical rows of lightly kissing trees

Create the smooth flowing orchards that born the bitter fruits of the vineyards

The quietly winding roads stretch effortlessly for miles

Old farm hands meticulously working roadside, cultivating the soil

While the emu’s peacefully pick over the scattered feed

The sacred temples, known as wineries

Sprinkled throughout these savory lands like a splendid seasoning

The vast array of salted cheeses

Impeccably blending with the exquisite bottles of pomegranate wines

And as day turns to dusk and dusk to nightfall

The luminous black sky is radiant with stars

Crystal clear, as if billions of little pixels

Had made this the sharpest sky these eyes have seen

And the amicable bellows of little nocturnal creatures

Singing a soothing ballad in harmonic synchronicity

Amidst a refreshing night air, so pleasing to my lungs

This place is the ideal venue

The perfect paradise

To me, this is the other side of the world

A faraway place from any city I’ve known

An existence unlike anything I’ve seen

So placid, so composed, this place

If only this beauty my walls could adorn

To have bore witness to this peerlessly painted canvass

Is to have seen serenity in its purest form
