Three Tears and a Lullaby

You look into her room
Knowing this could be good-bye.
Earlier, you sang her a lullaby,
But you couldn't finish; You had to cry.
Three tears and a lullaby,Ā
That's always how it goes.
Three tears and lullaby;Ā
You have to wonder if she knows
That you would giver her everything,
Your mind, your heart, your soul.
That what's killing her is killing you, too.
And it's a never-ending battle when you're trying not to show...
You hold her close to you,
You don't dare let her go.
She's all that's left of you,
The others left years ago.
"I would never leave you," you say with conviction.
Staying with this childĀ
Is your last true mission.
Three tears and a lullaby,
To reflect upon what you've done.
Three tears and a lullaby,
Nothing else, when she's dead and gone.
