Through The Looking Glass

Through The Looking Glass

As the days tumble past
I find in my mind's looking glass
A view to the perfect star
Where my soul is lifted
------------------------------------
         { Charis }
Where time spent is gifted
Less time of worries
And troubles lifted
A solace at the end of the looking glass
------------------------------------
            { Tony }
And as the sands pass
Through my mind's sorrows
I am ever-reminded
Of my mother's ~ " This too shall pass"
------------------------------------
            { Charis }
To pass would be easier
If I could push my hand through the glass
And pull my way through
Bringing my solace to me
--------------------------------------
             { Tony }
I would find myself
In the place I've longed to be
And as I ponder the places I might go
My mind reveals to me the perfect solace
--------------------------------------
                { Charis }
A garden where no judgment shows
No evil, nor sin
But this is not Eden
It's my own personal heaven
----------------------------------------
              { Tony }
Where in my mind
Anything's possible, the best things probable
As time tumbles along the beauty
In my own, pristine, looking glass.....

Wow!
What a fabulous collaboration, Tony and Charis.
Lewis Carroll, eat your heart out, dude! These two poets got it goin' on!

A garden where no judgment shows
No evil, nor sin
But this is not Eden
It's my own personal heaven

I like to think Heaven's that way—a personal haven, an oasis or paradise—where everything we love, and everyone we ever loved, is there.
Kudos to you both on your outstanding poem.

This is a wonderful piece Sir Tony and Lady Charis...
I find myself in the looking glass very often these days..
My hideaway... My thoughts of the future.. My place of pondering acts of the day...
" Where time spent is gifted
Less time of worries
And troubles lifted
A solace at the end of the looking glass." I think this is the backbone of my looking glass... That's why I visit so often...
And my mothers favorite words are also found in this piece..
" This too shall pass."
Well written.. Well done.. Thanks for sharing this..

This is brilliant! I love that you both had the ability to totally understand each other and create such a seamless and emotive poem. The mirror in our minds can often show only negatives but this showed salvation, peace and beauty, difficult to portray sometimes but effortlessly done here. It flowed so well that if the reader didn't know, they would assume it was from just one pen. Well done and 5 stars!xo

Hi DONNA!!..... you're right.....I was completely surprised at how well she picked up on the little nuances and rhythms...... it made it SO easy to write with her...... we actually timed ourselves...... I'd write four lines..... and then she had 5 minutes to do her four lines....... together we finished that poem in 30 minutes or so...... she has her mothers knack for the written word........ it was a pleasure and a LOT of fun to be a part of her first write on Cosmo!!...... thank you SO much for this my friend!!....... stay groovy girlfriend!!....... smiles.......T xo ??☀☀♥ ?

My Dear Brother Poet Tony and our latest Star on Cosmo, Charis,

"Through the Looking Glass" is a collaborated masterpiece!  There is no doubt Charis, that you have inherited your Mother's Kindred Soul.  Tony and she are my dearest poetic Soulmates, but I think now, that a powerful triumvirate has been formed.  You are definitely a "Star in the making", with two of the greatest tutors in the World, to guide you to the ends of the Universe.  I look so forward, to ingesting all of your future beautiful works.
As Tony will tell you, I respond poetically with with my comments, and this one, I now present to you and him.

This Wonderland is where I escape
When it is solace that I need
To alleviate my troubled mind
And to sow my sad Souls seed

.
This Paradise where all is good
No evil nor no sin
It is crafted aften Eden
But is my own consecrated dear Heaven

.
There the sky is my lofted limit
The possibilities I will surely pass
As I tumble through the beauty
Of my "Sacred Looking Glass"

Love to you both,
Larry xxx

Dear Tony,

You know that I am but an instrument guided by the beautiful written words of great poets such as yourself.  To witness the birth of another one, was a very cherished experience.  Charis has the same tender soul as does her mother, and surrounded by the both of you, is bound for poetic fame.
I look so forward to sharing this joyous happening.

All my love,
Larry xxx

Hi Tony, this is a beautiful poem. It flows so well. Like Donna said, if the reader didn't know, then you would think it was written by one person.

I especially liked this verse

To pass would be easier
If I could push my hand through the glass
And pull my way through
Bringing my solace to me

Charis must be very talented. I expect we'll be seeing more co writes in future perhaps?

Take care - Syd xo
