Ticking Time

Time,
Could you tick any slower?
Day,
After Day,
Time ticks slow,
When you're anxious to grow older.
A child young,
Naive,
With lack of understanding,
That days are limited,
Life is fragile,
We all hang by a string.
Too much time spent dreaming of the future,
Or the things we wish we could own,
Our moments pass us quickly,
Blink,
And you're grown.
It seems the older we get,
We remincse on the bad we did,
Time we wasted,
We always regret.
Now you can't stop it,
Each day bleeds into day,
You try to pause the clock,
But it has no time to stop,
So it tick,
Tick,
Ticks,
Away.
