Poem -

Time to Give In

Bombs flying everywhere,

A soldier down in despair.

As blood trickles down,

WeĀ restĀ in rage without a sound.

The enemy is quite clever,

To kill him it will take forever.

Every soldier isĀ covered in mud,

All I can see are the rivers of blood.

The smell of death fills my mind,

The meaning of destruction I can never find.

As I move the grass to find my way,

All I can think is should I stay.

The future life I shall rue,

If I don’t risk my life for you.

Why do things have to be like this?

My parents, children and wife I miss.

But in the future looking back today i'llĀ see

What a success this turned out to be.

But my family drown in their tears for me,

The sorrow for death they may see.

What to do, where to go,

A gun shots while we duck low.

While I hide myself behind some trees,

I hope and pray for my life please.

Dodging bullets, hiding from bombs,

Now all I can do is run.

Pacing, from one foot to another,

But to save another brother

A bullet blasts at my shoulder,

Blood pours out me, as I get colder,

As I fall down to the ground, I try to recall,

The times when I was very small.

I pray for my children, I pray for my wife

But most importantly I pray for my life

My heart races fast as ever,

Time to give in that would be never.
