Time Humbles

Time humbles you, dear one, in ways unforeseen,  
Like a silent wind that bends the trees so lean.  
You’ll stand upon the peak, then tumble to the fall,  
Fade into the blur, where you're no one at all.

Time guides you back to lives you once fled,  
Deep into the souls, where hearts are bled.  
It teaches you to see through life’s tangled thread,  
To know what matters and leave the rest unsaid.

When ends are beginnings, when they’re both the same,  
You’ll get a taste of triumph and taste of shame.  
You’ll think you’ve grasped it all, yet feel utterly lost,  
Like a sailor adrift, despite the maps you’ve tossed.

Hearts will change, and minds will sway,  
Eyes will open, then turn away.  
Your style and footsteps, both will alter,  
You’ll fit in, stand out, but at times will falter.

Loved and broken, mended yet scarred,  
Life leaves you marked, both near and far.  
I can’t tell you how much you’ll endure,  
But I promise, this world will know you for sure.

Mark my words, as time carves your name,  
In the fabric of life, in the halls of fame.  
This world—this world will not forget,  
The path you tread, the trails you’ve set.

And time, it will remember you,  
For every fall, for every rise,  
For every truth that met your eyes,  
As you carved your place beneath the skies.
