Time stood still

Miraculously my minutes momentarily stood still
As shooting stars shrouded my senses from the fascination of the thrill
Yet my incident did not kill me Oh no that was not the Lord’s will
So I stand to see another day reminscing that horrendous hill

You see it happened on a Monday morning, yes I can remember it so well
I was on my way to see my Mother 
The roads were as icy as hell
But being me with my determination 
I would not be told
“Huh it’s a bit frost rind, I’ll wrap up and face the cold”

Of course I should have heeded my wise husband’s advice
As I put my foot on the breaks  my wheels skidded on the ice
I had just turned this junction at the top of an embankment
I lost control in my little red car and felt the fear of disenchantment
Zig-zagging for what seemed like ages I slithered down the hill
But I pumped my break in stages as timelessness stood still

Then a wagon driver who was right in front of me opened my car door and set me free
I was routed to the spot until he woke me from my reverie
That scarey skid many moons ago still haunts me
So it is very true what they say about a chaotic commotion
Your whole world stands still in a sudden slow motion
