To all my fellow veterans

Â
I come to you as a friend, someone who understands the weight you carry. You have already given so much, and so much has been taken from you. You've endured battles far from home, only to return and face the harsh realities of an ungrateful society. Many of you have been ridiculed by the very people you swore to protect.
Â
I know what it feels like to hit rock bottom, to feel the crushing weight of despair, but I urge you—don’t let those thoughts win. You are loved. You are needed. Too many of our brothers and sisters have been lost, not to the battlefield, but to their own minds. We cannot afford to lose another.
Â
You are not alone. Somewhere out there, someone cares deeply for you, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. Find your anchor, something or someone to hold on to in the darkest moments. Whether it's a family member, a friend, a battle buddy, or a support group—reach out. There is strength in asking for help, in admitting you cannot carry the weight alone.
Â
Whatever you're going through, it does not define you, and it doesn’t have to win. There is hope, there is help, and there are people ready to stand by your side. Please, seek that help. Talk to someone. Your life is worth fighting for.
Â
Remember, we’ve all got a battle buddy somewhere. Stay strong, stay safe, and stay with us. Together, we can overcome anything.
