To Be Me

     Do you know what it’s like to be me 
I still don’t know 
I been taking care of people
people been taking of me 
now I get to be on my own 
     You don’t know what it’s like to be me 
and frankly neither do I 
I’d much prefer 
someone here to show me 
but I’m alone every night 
     To live alone is the title of my poem 
it ain’t sexy or fun 
maybe if you got a cat or a dog in your bed 
you’ll never need someone
