Poem -

To dad on your birthday

Happy birthday to the greatest dad to ever have touched feet on this ground....
78 you would've been today,
We should be celebrating,
Not sad and unhappy that you are gone but not forever.
Each time the sun shines I think of you and all the happy memories you've so lovingly given me.
Each time it rains I shed a my own waterworks remembering caravan holidays,
Tucked up inside the van,
Playing cards till the rain had dissipated....
Although a cornwall holiday when i was 8 years old,
Beautiful part of the country but we were confined to the caravan,
Playing cards or board games every second of each day.
In 2 weeks we grasped the Cornish countryside only once or twice but none of that really mattered as i spent it with mum and dad.......
Happy birthday to the biggest smile giver,
I'm sorry but you not being here makes me cold,
Emotionally a wreck that can't be fixed,
Till that day when we meet again,
I won't be floating ,
I'll be running to you with open arms!
I love you dad and you'll never be forgotten,
Till the day i die and forever past it,
You truly are the greatest dad that ever lived! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
