To Fade Without Warning

To Fade Without Warning
And then there was
nothing
Not even a breath
for his fingers to trace
in those
moments remaining
Condemned
to condense and be
gone in a
gasp, a flicker and fade
without so much
as a warning
and with nowhere
to hide
between and against,
the now
misted surface of some
old broken
mirror somewhere ..

Nev, not a word or foot wrong just pure poetry that wonderfully and sublimely works so well, engaging a reader and class at that.
It's late here in Cardiff as I write this and the Land of Nod and a higher power calleth me now, for duty calls tomorrow.
And tomorrow night will be visiting Amazon to purchase you're sixth
(bloody good going and well done mate) poetry book, Cotton Girls & Paper Chains.
Thanks Nev for your recent comments and moral support and it is not forgotten and be reading more as this week progresses.
All the best and poetry kudos to you.
You are seriously far too generous Shaun .. I had by the way been thinking about you for quite a while now & hoping you & yours are all safe and well .. So bloomin good to hear from you today mate .. Have a good kip & check back in when you are able .. In the meantime, thank you so much again ... All Good Things, N :)
There is such a hollowness to this read Neville. A sudden swift sadness hits the reader. Your words are so powerful and deeply moving my friend. I am so glad your new book is available too. Another to add to my Neville collection 😊 x
On this particular occasion, hollowness is a most agreeable observational experience. Indeed, as the author of this little scribble, I am delighted that you got a hint of what I was aiming for ... maybe :)
I am also deeply honoured & truly humbled that you should even consider acquiring one or any of my books Gwen & I sincerely hope you can feel that in this, my very swiftly writ response to you my smiley face is beaming 😊 x
