Poem -

To fall out of love

The butterflies have escaped and left my stomach
The fireworks have stopped
I have taken my heart back
And now it’s time to  move on

I have come back to reality
I’m not dreaming anymore
Your smile doesn’t fool me,
your eyes don’t speak to me,
And my heart doesn’t skip any beats

Your laugh doesn’t create that perfect song like it used to
Your touch doesn’t send electricity throughout my veins
The sight of you doesn’t make me go ‘aw’
Just face it, our love is not the same
