Poem -

To Love And To Want

Some say that to love is to surrender,
to live in the soul and never falter,

while others whisper that to want is desire,

a fleeting impulse that burns like fire.

To love is an eternal song to the void,

a deep echo in the unknown's ploy,

it's letting yourself completely fade,

to give life to another, no matter the weight.

To want, instead, is to hold for a while,

to seek the warmth that vanishes in the trial,

to cling to a moment destined to die,

without thinking of tomorrow or asking why.

To love is to stay when all lights dim,

to weep in silence and carry on within,

to give your days without expecting return,

to find meaning in a simple kiss you yearn.

To want, so lovely, such a brief game,

a passion that consumes but won’t sustain,

it's the spark that ignites but doesn’t remain,

a fleeting sigh, a story half-contained.

Tell me, dear heart, which do you choose?

To feel the want or the weight of true love?

In this dilemma where the soul contends,

only time reveals who truly bends.
