To My Daughter

To My Daughter

There is something you should know
It happened twenty six years ago
You were born once upon a time
'Overwhelmed ' when I heard your first whine

But, I was born too that day
Our special bond will never go away
I held you when you cried
I was shining with joy and pride.

I'm your mother in every special way
And bring you through another day
I'll always stand by you as you grow
While enduringly teaching the things I know.

Sometimes you think ' you know it all'
I'll still catch you when you stumble and fall
And trudge through the vastness is worth a try
I'll understand and won't pry.

So, off you go and fulfill your dreams
Letting go isn't easy as it seems
I sound like importunate mother
Just like any other.

Time flies and what I see
A strong woman just like me
Young and beautiful dame
Who wants to be free.

Happy Birthday my daughter.

Hi Tony, thanks for dropping by .
That is my daughter, a young, strong and beautiful lady.
I always write a poem on her birthday aside from graduations and other achievements. She's now 26.
