To My Sleeping Beauty by Jude Kyrie

To My Sleeping Beauty by Jude Kyrie

In resting pose she sleeps in innocenceĀ
Under pillowed clouds and songbirds foldĀ
Soft light pours upon her in vaulted reverenceĀ
her sweet face framed by hair of goldĀ

At night the silvered shadows fallĀ
In shrouded silence, she does not hearĀ
The saddened night-birds callĀ
Or the distant heartbeats of those so dearĀ

Amber sunsets fall upon her, tillĀ
Darkness breaks with moonlight cheerĀ
Lost in slumber deep and stillĀ
Safe from anguish and earthly fear
