Poem -

To Not Sink

A misty rain falls
On the living who scurry
Bright willed and cheerful
Under canopied heads

Breathing lives breathing
Swirling colour and noise
Focused, intent
Rushing out of the wet

A misty rain falls
On the oceans that swell
Smudging horizons
To bleeding grey ink

Colourful boats
Sailing life on the surface
Focused, intent
To float on
To not sink

A misty rain falls
Through the trees in a
graveyard
Running in rivulets
Over meaningless names

Blurring the colours of a
canopied head
A lone figure lone
Breathing breath
For her dead

A beautiful, haunting and forlorn write that conveys loneliness and hopelessness in equal measure.
Great ink again Marion and one so beautifully expressed.
Wishing you well and take care. x
