To the one, I respond to

Distance, affection, viewpoint, opportunity that suits me;
These ordeals kept me going
The ten dollar note; my gift;
Also helped me

The person did not put it in the bank;
So that I could give it away
It is how I fall in love
It happens some way

Logically, there should be one more paragraph to the poem
when I fell in love; I could not give it away
