TODAY IS MY NATAL DAY
I've placed myself in a time capsule for sixty years
feeling lost, wandering from coast to coast
I could have done better than the most
who knows? maybe I'm that close.
I've seen mountains , valleys, oceans,
and lakes- the pulchritude of the universe
murky clouds that bound the furious sky
soul sighed, loomed my life.
I've stood at the back of a long queue
patiently tried to get to the front
rejected, taken for granted
came home empty handed.
I've driven down so many endless roads
dodged motorists and crossing beasts.
I've seen people come and go
the ghosts of friends
dropping by to say "hello".
I've seen the vicious circle of life and death
laid at the tomb of weary souls a funeral wreath.
I've beaten almost all the dangers
that cloud the whole peripheral of life
won the pain and endless strife.
Yes! those were my 60 years life's journey.
In a few minutes I'll be sixty-one
which reminds me of a Bible verse that I
could better now resonate: "Psalm 61",
"I will always be with you even to the end of the earth".
So, I stay calm and keep quiet
God and the angels will guide me
to my highest purpose.
I'm blessed to be at sixty-one
I thank the almighty God
for everything he has done.

Leah great poem I know how you feel I will be 60 next mouth I to have been down that long and lonely road and said goodbye to many people and I have seen the world change I to have been every where and seen lot to great poem
