Today’s society

Today’s society

Reluctantly I truly believe today’s society has somewhat sadly changed
Whilst it disheartens me to wonder if our past morals are now deranged

Tho this present system of affairs I fail to comprehend with paying the price of one’s punishments providing no justice at the end

Court cases with adjournments in law & order halls dealing with the darn-right thuggery from disorder judgmental brawls

Surely an ‘eye for an eye’ should be a ‘tooth for a tooth?’
Our law of retaliation should set an example to the youth

Alas one often worries in these times of troubles & tribulations
what an earth will become of our world in our land with it’s united nations ?

Was the death sentence to harsh in those bygone days of old ? or did it succeed to learn a lesson tho so callously cold

Perhaps a short shrift of slave labour could serve as a disciplinary action ?
Just dessert’s for one’s comeuppance for the innocent victim’s satisfaction
