Toleration and tact

Have I become wiser with age, tho more apprehensive?
Where my mood swings like a pendulum, thinking thoughts so pensive
Nowadays I won’t tolerate fools gladly, I could act all defensive
Tho life is not like a box of chocolates and can be incomprehensive
But one should learn lessons of life from those wise words on a page
So I have reread over and over the wisdom of sage
Whilst trying my utmost to be milder and mellow with age
Alas I find my patience is less, like a man with road rage
Yet why on earth should I worry about the way that I act
My mood swings aren’t that bad as a matter of fact
And I have learned how to disguise my inner feelings when they are attacked
By bluffing my initial reaction with toleration and tact!!!
