Too Much?

Too Much?

You don’t even realize how much I love you

I love you so much that it’s painful

I don’t want to exist when the time comes for you to re-ascend into eternity

That would break me; that’s how much I love you

Every decision that I make is carefully contemplated so to never be the cause of your grief

The mere thought of you ever experiencing despondency makes my chest collapse and causes my heart to skip beats

That’s how much I love you Ā

In your absence, even for just a moment, I pray for you

I pray that the Creator will envelop you in a way that you are completely hidden from atrocity

Because if harm were to capture you, I would cease to breathe by choice

That’s how much I love you

I love you so much you see, that I would happily and un-hesitantly take your place

In war, in hell, in space; anywhere that you were held against your will

Even if that place was in my heart

I love you so much that if you chose to free yourself from this space; my love

I’d break my own restraint, my own chains of endearment for you

I’d grant you your independence even if it meant anguish for me

That’s how much I love you

For this reason alone, it is hard for me to comprehend

The desolation I feel deriving from you

I don’t understand how someone I am so fond of could be the source of such agony

Did I drive you to this?

Were my expectations too heavy?

Do I love you too much?
