Tornado rips again

My heart bleeds

For the horrible rip off

Caused by the massive twister  in Oklahoma.

But tears fail to comprehend the gravity of the situation.

Imagine stepping out of the house,

On a supposed normal day

Parents , children and others

about their daily routine, they went

Without any clue about the day’s secret.

Then, in the middle of the day,

struck the tragedy

About   sixteen  to forty minutes  after the storm watch alert

Which was barely enough  to stay clear of the storm’s pathway.

It was the worst tornado ever.

Very furious and determined

to demolish obstructing buildings on its way.

Shredded homes, all over the area

And  the floor, decorated with rubbles

Like it is in a junk yard.

A whole neighborhood  wiped out of sight

With no clear home identification.
 Cars swept off their feet

And blown away

At least about twenty four adult and nine kids

Said their final prayers

On that unfortunate day.

May their souls rest in peace.

This story however,  is incomplete

Without singing the praise

Of the ER doctor who saw to the safety of the affected hospital’s patients

Shielding their heads with mattresses.

The hospital which could combine such a ghastly incident

With the thought of a woman walking into labor at the same time.

Heroic teachers, who practically shielded kids

With their bodies

Putting their own lives on the line.

Their  act of heroism will never be forgotten.

Many hearts and properties

have been ripped off

By this cunning and fierce tornado

That failed to prepare the hearts of men

About its intension to graze the land of Oklahoma.

Now, many people/families

Would have to pick up their pieces

And start all over again.

Sister,

We here in New York hear about the devastation in Oklahoma- what has it been-4 tornadoes? The horror in Boston. Something got started centuries ago by men intent on destruction. Perhaps Mother Nature must remind us Who is more powerful- hopefully to humble us. In the meantime- we mourn. I, myself gather up the pain and the tears and continue on in my quest.
