Trail Of Tears 2

I visit the paths that we once walked, for so many joyous years;

But now I take them all alone, I call them the “Trails of Tears”!

For you’re no longer here with me, you had to sail away;

Not quite yet two whole years ago, on that very saddest day!

Now once a week I return to them, and all your little spots;

The places that you loved so much, to them you’d quickly trot!

These nocturnal trips eat at my heart, for memories come flying in;

Of the greatest era in my life, the happiest I’ve ever been!

You were the mate of my sobbing soul, you completed it and made it sing;

Each morning dawn I would wake up, knowing such happiness you’d bring!

Without you now, I cry all day, at night, I have troubled dreams;

But four times a month we walk again, in the light of the Moon’s golden beams!
