Poem -

Trance

I rise from slumber
Sunday morn
'tis not the church
that calls me on
a haze of nightmares
from weekend past
emotional disconnections
severed at last
no long term happiness
or ever afters
the cheats they prosper
victims swing from the rafters
dragging steps without purpose
alone in depressive wonder
the trance takes my soul
leaving my heart asunder
the waters flowing
clothes fall without taxing
slowly sliding in to
remembrance relaxing
cold creeps in
joints harden to ice
must end this now
matters think twice
trance take over
metallic refraction
nick or slice
ending reflection
drifting haze
mortal departure
discovery whence
ruby sepulcher
love
depart
life
forfeit
