trans gender

a faint voice said hello
it called from below
it's the gas man!
he's come to read the meter..
in cherry lipstick and aquamarine
my eyes were avoided
this pretty lady hiding
behind her organza veil
of long blonde curls
making the tranformation
from a male to a femaleĀ
it's all so very real
not like on televison
or in a show
real people in real life
riding the rollercoaster
some unbelted so they can bail
some never get on
they just spectate their whole trip
whatever you have to do
do it for yourself
as nobody but who you care for matter
I wish I had, said something meaningfull
but I only said I couldnt have my hair
swishing in my face like you..
but in her shyness..she never met my gaze
but better still..it was all perfectly normal
which is what I want it to be
normal..what ever that is.

I was at work, and the gas man called..a different kind of gas man, but whatever makes his/her spirit happy.. to live their life as they chose.
The greatness of this poem...lies in its humanity...and in its simplicity.
Bravo!!
