TRANSITION

The same sun rises, casts strong light, throws deep shadows
across the dark valleyâs that surround me, then setâs
on a year of tortured transition.
Dark beauty for those who care but just enough to seeÂ
the morning mist rise, to greet the sun, to join the day.
And letting go the pain inflicted, without malice,
when we hurt so much and cared to much, without wisdom,
and cried in barren lands where nothing grew, where love was lost.
When all we saw was self and pity and how they did not care.
And that we did we canât undo, even as anger subsides,
as forgiveness takes root in foreign soil, building there a life, a home
with the rising creative flow, of joy, of life, of love and loving,
that slowly fills the empty cup to slake the thirst of the new found voice,
for so long silent.Â

Hi David, what  a lovely piece of writing!... lots of self reflection going on there but also a realisation that whist we can't necessarily change the past we can accept and reflect and look to make positive changes. Hope life continues to improve! Enjoyed it immensely.Welcome to Cosmofunnel.

Hi Lodigiana,
It's been a big step to publish among peers, poems that are my first attempts
to express a new found voice (more on that when I complete my profile).
The generosity of your comment is a wonderful fillip to my confidence.
Sincerely thank you,
David.
