Transmogrification

Transmogrification

Burn and rot
Into the earth
Fuse with the freshest of elements
You had not smelled the savor of those
Until you were trenched in such dingy depth
Burn, rot
And infiltrate
Surrender to loss of simplicity
Of your ignorance and incautious ways
Who left as cloying fumes in the gale
Quell the strain
With sighs of care
Regather your dust and your crystal sand
Your beauty, virtue, and your disease
Your latest ache and it's new steel hand
Eat the raw
Exhale the shame
Patiently forage for all your truth
Accept and nurture this metamorph
You'll never revert to the former you
You're radiant
And you're ugly
You're weakness, resilience, anguish, and light
This, the insoluble song of the human
A merge of perplexing duality
Relinquish
And now rise
Weary, worn, yet still more alive
Glowing bright with a soft and slow
Burn slow 'till you meld with the dirt again
