Trauma

Trauma

The pain I feel, I keep secret.

I will never be able to forget

The suffering I saw in those eyes

As the illness took you from our lives.

To see you wither, then pass away

Haunts me, constantly, to this very day.

...........................................

I know everyone has to die

But in such a manner, I ask why.

I tendered lovingly to your care

Hiding, in your presence, total despair.

I can't believe it happened so long ago

The hurt that's still there, I will never show.

Hello Richard...

This touched my heart as your words usually do...

I saw the same look in my Mother's eyes...

I was her caregiver too...

Sorry for your loss...

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

With wet eyes...

I agree with Richard that we all have to die someday, but despite that the deep wounds that cause us the death never heal and all those people that were important for us never can forget, they will be there until the last second of life and accompany us in our death.

Death is always ugly to those who remain, and sad for those who in her arms die. A poem very sad but also very real.
