Tree

Tree

Giant tree were tiny leaves hugging each other
and sleep at night like now.
Flowers at the end of their life
slowly adding their last breaths to the air.
The branches like arms of an old man,
vains popped up
on old wrinkly skin
inscribed with reminders of
the glorious youth.
The way the branches bent and divide,
like a giant dome of leaves
sheltering the road
where vehicles pass,
people move,
but never look up to see
the old sage covering them with his arms.
I went to him and touch his cold skin
and wisper
"Thank you big guy"
