Trouble

At Richie's Bar I took a look, across the
road, across the brook
A little bar, quite in seclude, nice place
to drink, nice place for food
I played some pool, and looked to see,
if any girl did look at me
I won a few, and lost some more, then
I left, went out the door
An hour or two, I went back in, another
game, a chance to win
The girls again I took a look, but every
girl I saw was took
Yet there were some who looked at me,
and raised their skirt for me to see
I chose wrong, took from the place, tried
to kiss, got slapped in face
To the bar I took her back, and said "byby,
I'll hit the sack"
"Please don't go, I'm sorry now, I'll
make it up someway, somehow"
I buy her drink, she said "Â that's nice,"
another drink I buy her twice
Drunk she got, then through the door
her husband came, POW I'm on the floor
After while I'm on my feet, back 'cross
the brook, to other street
To my room I lay me down, for me I think
get out of town
In morning go, I go for sure
To little bar, I go no more
