A true Christmas

Christmas is near!

Its around the corner!

The time for spreading

Laughter and cheer!

Time for shiny, colorful ornaments,

And bows, ribbons, and boxes

Of all shapes, colors, and sizes!

But theres the other face of Christmas.

Where you dont see the beautiful, soft white snow,

Or the dark green bristles of Christmas trees.

Or the candles and bright tree lights a- glow.

There is no presents here.

No gifts to be found.

Take a look,

its silence all around.

There are no gifts,

No delicious red and white candy canes to taste.

This is the face of a true Christmas.

Its not the gifts, 

The candy canes,

Or even the Christmas trees!

Its not defined by the big bows, or the colors everywhere,

Its defined by

The families,

The laughter,

The love,

The compassion, 

The giving,

And the spirit.

This is a true Christmas!
