Twas on the 1st of April

Twas on the 1st of April

Twas on the 1st of April that all through the lands people were staying indoors on their Governments commands
Too scared to go out with Corvid-19
coz this was a killer if you see what I mean
Irrespective of age tho the elderly was worse dying without loved ones in the hands of a Nurse

But blossoms bloomed on the Cherry tree and yellow trumpet daffodils were blowing free
Lambs in the grassy green fields were being born in the warmth of the sunshine on an early Spring morn
Yet all around apart from Dame Mother creatures was ghost towns of eerieness, such rarity features

Familes were torn apart in sad seperations in each and every country across the nations
Alas April was in the midst of a minstral wind when Coronavirus spread thru humanity and thinned
Chaotic bulk-buying in panicked confusion, empty shelves in the shops was a foregone conclusion
Yet people were brave and they kept their cool as Mothers and Fathers taught their children homeschool

As many months sped past keeping a social distance fellowmankind learned a new way of existence
They Skyped and used Facetime for talking to friends as they stayed in their houses with their washing and cleanse
So this incurable disease was brought to it’s knees and blew off in oblivion with it’s dry cough and it’s wheeze
